Instructions:
When you find a book that you are interested in, click on it to get more details.  This will take you to the Amazon web site where you will be able to check the price and availability.  If you decide that you want to order the book, click on the "add to shopping basket" button.

Once you have chosen all the books that you wish to buy, click on the shopping basket icon at the top of any of the pop-up detail screens.  Check the contents of your basket, then click on the "proceed to checkout" button.  That's all there is to it.

The books will usually be with you within a few days.  There is a small postage charge, so you may want to buy several books at once, perhaps between a few colleagues, as this will work out to be even better value.

Customer comment:

WOW! This book is exactly what I've been searching for for years! As you'd expect from the creator of the C++ language, it serves as an in-depth reference book and has found a permanent place on my desktop (not on the shelf where my girlfriend keep putting it!) If you're a C coder and you're looking to learn C++ then this book will serve you well, although it is not suitable for those new to programming. What more can I say... BUY IT

Customer comment:

This book is great for reference. Keep it on your desk! I liked this book cause it does not go into a lot of details. It just gives you a quick review of what you need to know at any moment. I think, this book is great for reference and should be kept on your desk.

Customer comment:

Scott Meyers' now classic Effective C++ provides an informative and elegant presentation of specific tips that should be used by all C++ programmers. The organization of the book allows the reader to read it front to back or as a quick reference. Any serious C++ programmer should have this book in his/her library.

Customer comment:

If you are looking to learn how to use Visual C++, this is the book. Horton does an excellent job coverring the language, being easy to understand and thorough. If you have experience in any other high-level language, such as Visual Basic, Delphi/Pascal, etc., you should have no trouble with this book. My only complaint would be that the MFC section isn't the greatest, however if you don't want to learn MFC, there is Beginning C++.

Programming Visual C++

Customer comment:

Very good book if you are ready for it! You should learn C++ first before learning VC++ or you will have a hard time with any good book on VC++. The number one mistake I see today is someone trying to learn MFC before learning C++. A very clear book and easy to understand if you have the sense to build your way up to this book. Do your homework, VC++ is not easy to learn it takes a long time, a lot of programming, and reading a lot of books to get good at it, lazy people will all ways complain instead of working.

Customer comment:

Easily the most informative MFC book in the market. Unlike the typical MFC books being sold in most book stores today which are mostly littered with AppWizard code, this book actually talks about how MFC works and does an extremely good job in doing so. If you are a serious MFC programmer who wants to know how MFC really works undercover then buy this book.

Customer comment:

Excellent for beginners and pros alike. Simply put, this a deeply thought-through book. Mr Kain has put himself in the place of the programmer, and has unerringly placed his finger on the common problem spots. I am a beginner, and I was helped greatly by this book. It is definitely the best I have found for conquering the learning curve.

Customer comment:

Best MFC book available! Thanks Mike! I spend over $1000 every year on new books too. This book frustrated me at first when I knew nothing about MFC and little more than Petzold's well written text. But after scouring other MFC books and learning the DevStudio, this book proved invaluable. It is not a book for beginners, but every experienced C++ programmer developing in Windows must have this book. Mike's style is relaxed, accurate, thorough yet entertaining. His coverage of the Multi Doc-View architecture is great! I also loved the discussion on customizing menus and controls on the fly. This book paid for itself many of thousands of times over. Caution: if you own any book with "for Dummies" in the title, this book is not for you.
